At Wandina Primary School, we highly value the benefits that the Arts Curriculum brings to our students’ educational experience. Students attend lessons in The Arts every week, provided by a specialist teacher in a fully equipped classroom with a robust complement of musical instruments and art supplies and resources. Students engage in the Visual Arts and Music curriculums split over the two semesters.
Our Visual Arts program explores works by classic and contemporary artists, where students experiment and develop their skills with a wide variety of media, including painting, collage, textiles, detailed drawing and clay.
In our Music program, students learn about the fundamental elements of music as well as use modern digital technology to explore and compose music of their own. Students have the opportunity to attend specialist instrumental programs run at the school.
At the core of our Arts instruction is a focus on students developing their creativity and problem-solving skills. Our love of the Arts is evident throughout our school and permeates every classroom.
